WHAT WE DO

FAITH IN ACTION
Court Our Lady of Peace seeks to reinforce and deepen our Catholic faith through education and devotion. Acting on our faith, our meetings begin and end with prayer and scripture readings. We conduct programs that benefit not only our parish, but our entire community.

Our former pastor, Father Marek Krol, joined us in our meetings to teach us the biblical underpinnings of the Liturgy of the Mass in a program called, "A Biblical Walk Through the Mass". Through our Spirituality Circle of Love, we engage in making rosaries and participate in traditional Catholic devotions such as the May Crowning of Mary.
SUPPORTING OUR CHURCH AND CLERGY
Reinforcing Our Commitment

Court Our Lady of Peace seeks to render support to all the clergy of the Teller County Catholic Community as well as the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Together with the Knights of Columbus, we sponsor a biennial Clergy Appreciation Dinner and Gift for our pastor and deacons. This year we hosted all the deacons in the diocese for breakfast during their annual retreat day.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS FUN DAY
Court Our Lady of Peace hosted a Family and Friends Fun Day which included game tables, a silent auction, a craft boutique, face painting, pumpkin decorating and plenty of food. The day promoted fellowship and participation in our Teller County Catholic community. A percentage of the monies raised went to aid the parish and our other charities. Recently, we were able to contribute to the remodeling of our parish rectory.

SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS
We organized a sign language class, taught by Mrs. Anna Rockhill a member of Court Holy Family in Security Colorado, to help those in our community impacted by speech or hearing problems. This class was open to everyone.
Spiritual Retreat

Gratitude
On November 4, 2023, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Our Lady of Peace #2728 sponsored a day long retreat at the beautiful El Tesoro Retreat Center in Woodland Park, Colorado. The retreat was organized by our Spirituality Circle of Love and was open to all the Catholic Daughters as well as any women of the parish who wanted to participate.
The retreat was led by Sister Jackie Sardina, FMA. The theme for the retreat was ‘Gratitude’ and Sister Jackie chose St. Mary Magdelene as an excellent example of feminine gratitude to the Lord, since after Jesus healed her of demonic possession, she dedicated her life to Him.

We each made personal Gratitude Jars in which we placed
notes about the things for which we were most grateful to
God. Many of us have continued to fill the jars with our thanks
to the Lord for his many blessings.
The day drew to a close with Mass at Our Lady of the Woods church in Woodland Park. It was so successful that we have already received many requests to do it again next year. Court Our Lady of Peace presented Sr. Jackie with a quilt made by our members.

Corpus Christi Procession
On the Feast of Corpus Christi Father Marek led a procession through the streets of Woodland Park.

Court Our Lady of Peace participated in the procession and provided an outside altar for participants to rest and pray.
Supporting Our Parish.
Some of the talented members of Court Our Lady of Peace made covers for the statues at St. Peter's Chapel in Cripple Creek for Holy week in 2023.

Colorado State Convention
In June of 2023, delegates from Court Our Lady of Peace #2728 attended the State Convention which was hosted by Court Mount of the Holy Cross #941 in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Although Court Our Lady of Peace is one of the smallest courts in Colorado, we left the 2023 State Convention with the most awards of any court.
Our own Irene Demers was elected and inducted as State Treasurer.
